SEQUENTIAL SKETCHES

This is the final version of my sequential sketches: I have scanned the rough ones I had drawn last month and I went over them with photoshop, then I printed them and coloured them with crayons, pencils and watercolours. This is just one example of 12 ready for Monday.

Mi sento veramente felice oggi! :)

SECOND ATTEMPT TO RENDER 1:200 PLAN

Here is a really bad scanned image of my 1:200 plan which I rendered with the same technique as the one used for the sections. It looks rough but it is in tune with he style of the sections and it gives that natural feeling which I'm trying to communicate with my concept and with my design proposal.
I'll to the same for the sequential sketches!

THE LIFE OF OTHERS

This is a great film I saw on Thursday to celebrate my 28th birthday: it plays in east Berlin at the time of the wall and deals with a couple of artists, a dramatist and an actress, who begin to be spied by the Stasi (the police the DDR used to control conspirations and people trying to escape to west Berlin). The Stasi policeman involved in the spying process gets more and more emotionally involved with the lives of the couple until there is a big surprise at the end of the movie.
I love Berlin, I've lived there for one year and I found everything related to it fascinating. It has been a nice evening, a moving story, a good way to practice my rusty German and, above all, a nice break from college work!!!!
See you all on Monday, have a nice weekend!

RENDERED SECTIONS

These are the two sections of my 1:200 detail area: I'm finally happy with the rendering technique and I'm going to use it for the sequential sketches too: I have drawn the section by hand first, then I scanned it as a jpeg file. Then I added all the features (trees, shrubs, aquatic plants) with photoshop in black and white and then I printed it.
Finally I coloured them with all sorts of drawing tools: coloured pencils, crayons, oil pastels, chalks, watercolours, watercolour pencils, one on top of the other.
It is quite timeconsuming but it is worth the effort. Good luck everybody with your work and see you on Monday!

LIGHTING CONCEPT DRAWINGS

These are the only two resolved drawings for Monday which I'm quite proud of: the lighting plan and two sections showing the light effect. The rest is still under construction I'm afraid...
it has taken ages to do everything, I feel like a snail at the moment! Yet I have been working no-stop for the whole period...what an exhausting Easter holiday!
At least there are still 4 weeks to catch up and to have everything ready.
See you all on Monday, have a 'nice relaxing weekend' ;-)
